Abstract

The research aimed to identify the degree of knowledge of Faculty members in the faculty of Education at Damascus University about teaching practices based on brain-based learning using the descriptive analytical approach, that applied to a sample of Faculty members in the Faculty of Education at Damascus University. The research population consisted of (195) members in the Faculty of Education at Damascus University. The sample consisted of (60) faculty members chosen by the stratified random method from the departments of the Faculty of Education. The research instrument was a cognition test to measure the degree of knowledge of teaching practices based on brain-based learning theory. The results showed that: the percentage of the degree of knowledge of Faculty members in the Faculty of Education at University of Damascus about teaching practices based on brain-based learning amounted (41.53%), and thus did not reach to the acceptable limit (60%); which is the standard required for the degree of knowledge of teaching practices based on brain-based learning. The results also showed that there were statistically significant differences between the averages of the degrees of the sample members according to the academic qualification in favor of (PhD holders), and there were statistically significant differences between the averages of the degrees of the sample members according to the scientific rank in favor of (the higher rank).
