Abstract

The study aimed to identify the extent to which the family crimes in the Palestinian society are spread due to the Corona pandemic. It also aimed to reveal the psychological, economic and social effects of the Corona pandemic on the crimes within the family in the Palestinian society in the Southern West Bank. The researcher s used a questionnaire to collect the data and the descriptive approach to analyze it. The purposive sample consisted of (74) researchers from the total population which was (120) researchers from the Ministry of Social Development in the governorates of Hebron and Bethlehem in the Southern West Bank. The study concluded that there were statistically significant differences at the level of (α ≥05) between the averages of the impact of the Corona pandemic on the crime within the Palestinian family due to the gender variable (male, female) in favor of the females, and there were statistically differences for the variable of age in favor of 26-30 years and 31-40 years. There were also statistically differences for the workplace variable in favor of Bethlehem. In addition, there were no statistically significant differences at the level of (α ≥05) between the averages of the impact of the Corona pandemic on the crime within the Palestinian family due to the variable of years of experience. This indicated that the level of the impact of Corona pandemic on the crime within the Palestinian family was highly significant. Moreover, the most important family crimes due to the pandemic were electronic of a sexual nature among family members, which spread widely with the percentage of 83%, followed by the violence against wives with the percentage of 77% .The social effects of the Corona pandemic on crime within the Palestinian family were highly significant with the percentage of (71%).The psychological effects of the Corona pandemic on the family crimes in the Palestinian society were also highly significant with the percentage of (75%) as well as the economic effects of the Corona pandemic on the family crimes in the Palestinian society were highly significant with the percentage of 77%.
