Abstract
The starting solutions corresponding to the motions of a Newtonian fluid, between two infinite circular cylinders, are determined by means of the Laplace and finite Hankel transforms. The general case, when both cylinders oscillate along their common axis and around the same axis, is considered. The solutions that have been obtained are presented as sum of the steady-state and transient solutions and satisfy all imposed initial and boundary conditions. Finally, the resulting shear stresses are also determined. The time required to attain the steady-state has been obtained by means of the graphical illustrations.
