Abstract
Security is an important area in modern communications system. To guarantee the security of group communication, a novel and efficient password based group key exchange protocol with secret sharing is proposed in this paper. Secret sharing technology is usually used to control the privileges of the authorized users to improve the robustness of the system in past years. This paper applies it into designing the key exchange protocol directly, which makes the proposed scheme much simpler and easier to understand. The security analysis shows the proposed scheme can provide the confidentiality and authentication, while being competitively efficient in comparison with other work in the literature.
