Abstract
An axisymmetric Stefan-type model is presented for glaciation of a cylindrical gas pipeline in sea-water, which is solved numurically. Two simplified models are formulated, one of which admits exact analytical solution. Comparison of the three models in a particular case shows good agreement and indicates that simple models could be useful in estimating ice thickness on pipelines in sea-water.
