Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of using guided discovery style on each of kinetic satisfaction, level of skill performance, and achievement in the javelin throwing event. For the purposes of this study the researcher used an experimental method. Study sample consisted of (20) students from physical education faculty students enrolled in the course of track and field during the first semester of the academic year (2015-2016). Participants were selected purposively and divided into two equal groups. The experimental group consisted of ten (n=10) students who learned by a guided discovery style and the control group consisted of ten (n=10) students who learned by traditional style. Application program lasted for six weeks with three units in the week, and the duration of each unit was 60 minutes. The study results showed that the educational program by using guided discovery style had a positive impact on improving the level of kinetic satisfaction, performance skills and achievement for the students in javelin throwing. The researcher recommended using the proposed guided discovery style to improve the level of kinetic satisfaction, performance skills, and achievement in javelin throwing among students of the faculty of physical education at Yarmouk University.
