Abstract

The study aimed to identify the impact of the practice of adapted sports activity on the level of self-esteem of the physically disabled, in addition to their comparison with their peers who are not practicing adapted sports activity, To achieve this, the researchers used the descriptive approach and the questionnaire that they designed as a tool for collecting data and information from an intentional sample consisting of (24) physically disabled persons, (12) physically disabled practitioners of the adapted sports activity on a regular basis, and (12) physically disabled non-practitioners. The results of the study showed that the level of self-esteem of the physically disabled group practicing the adapted sports activity was high (46.79), and that the level of self-esteem of the non-practicing disabled was low (18,98), The results indicated that the practice of adapted sports activity has a positive effect on the level of self-esteem of the physically disabled are practicing the activity compared to the non-practitioners of the adapted sports activity. The researchers recommended increasing awareness of individuals with physically disabilities of the importance of exercising adapted sports activity.
