Abstract

Notes on Lexical Insertion

Our objective in this article is to present a theory which questions the operation of lexical insertion considered as a substitution operation. We will show that this operation is intimately linked to the formal organization of grammar, to such an extent that calling it into question would lead to a profound reorganization of the model of representing linguistic knowledge.
