The economic-commercial history of the Doukkala and El Jadida makes it possible to distinguish between different periods of economic-commercial influence and of economic and social slump.The phases of economic wealth and international commercial developmentnational cover the periods:existence of the Portuguese in the region in the 10th and 17thcenturies.Opening up of Morocco in general to the world economy in the 9thcentury and at the beginning of this century, the establishment of a series of protoindustrial projects from the 1980’s (JorfLasfar).
