Abstract
The study examined the role of global events in developing urban communities and the challenges facing the global events industry, as Dubai achieved revenue growth of 3.3% in 2024, and allocated a budget of 4% for infrastructure worth 2.6 billion dirhams, and the inflation rate in Dubai reached 2.5% in 2017. 2021, which confirms the efficiency of development in the city based on holding international events. The infrastructure in Qatar also increased by 7%, and the percentage of national income from tourism in Sharm El Sheikh reached 11.8%
The study clarifies the role of global activities as an input to the development of urban communities, especially major cities, and evaluates their impact on the social, economic, environmental and cultural dimensions. The study concluded the importance of strengthening the identity building of urban society, opening the doors of international cooperation, and enhancing awareness of investment opportunities as results of holding global events.
