Abstract
The implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) as a construction industry technology delivers extensive effects on project duration and financial management. This investigation examines BIM as a technology specifically designed to cut down construction project delays and decrease expenditures. The scholarly review of existing research material through a secondary approach allows this study to identify BIM's major value contributions.
The implementation of BIM technology enables project schedules to reach improved accuracy which results in a reduction of project delays by 15-25% because of its automation features and effective clash detection and real-time coordination benefits. The application of building information modeling platforms achieves financial efficiency through cost reductions reaching 10–20% and waste reduction in rework reaching approximately 15%. The project achieved material waste reduction worth 20% through efficient resource usage along with waste management techniques.
The research study recognizes four main barriers which hinder the widespread acceptance of BIM technology including expensive initial implementation expenses and a lack of qualified personnel and regulatory restrictions plus organizational reluctance to embrace technological advancements. The proposed recommendations focus on obtaining government support through incentives while offering specific BIM training and adopting a step-by-step BIM implementation approach.
The research establishes BIM as fundamental for modern construction management which improves delivery results and financial stability through contemporary management techniques such as Lean construction and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This research presents essential findings and specific recommendations to policy-makers and construction companies as well as academic institutions about BIM training investments and standards.
