Abstract

The upholstery industry is one of the main strategic industries where the Egyptian economy depends upon it. So, the state gives it great concern especially in light of the concern with open economy. In light of the opening market status and increase commercial demand, there is increase to provide more attractive designs for the customer. So, it is necessary, as part of development methods in the current century, to concerns with providing goods able to compete and attract customer. Through this Exploratory study, executed by the researcher for some upholstery plants in Giza and Cairo governorates. The researcher found similarity in the designs. The researcher selected the Japanese arts as one of the far east arts and search in the ancient civilizational heritage as a source of inspiration in addition to the special printing methods in Japan, the stencil method. Which became famous Japanese handcraft. The stencil idea depends upon color penetration through pores in the metal, paper, wood and leather and the color passes through hard brush leaves traces on the textiles or paper. The current study is concerned with Japanese stencil prints and their aesthetic values ​​that can be used to create modern designs for contemporary upholstery ((bed covers (bedspreads and bed sheets - pillow cases - blankets - quilts), curtain fabrics)). The research problem is summarized in how to take advantage of the aesthetics of Japanese stencil prints, which is reflected in the artistic vision of the innovation of contemporary furniture design, and although Japanese art in general and Japanese stencil prints in particular. The research aims to shed light on the aesthetics of Japanese stencil prints and to identify the most important symbols and their meanings, and to extract the technical and plastic characteristics of Japanese stencil prints, and to present a group of Japanese artists in the field of stencil printing and their most important artwork, and to find new formative solutions derived and inspired by the study of Japanese stencil prints. Methodology: the descriptive analytical approach. Results: studying the Japanese stencil prints with the values ​​and aesthetics they carry is an important source that leads to the creation of designs suitable for printing contemporary upholstery fabrics, and that studying the Japanese stencil prints is a new idea and worthy of inclusion in research and studies in the arts of designing textiles in general and in the field of designing and printing private upholstery fabrics, And that studying Japanese stencil prints opens the way to benefit from those studies, which enriches applied research and technical studies, and that providing designs for upholstery fabrics inspired by the aesthetic features of Japanese stencil prints achieve career goals and Aesthetics to produce a distinct product capable of competing in the Arab and international markets, as well as developing and updating the design through innovation in the decorative elements and the constant search for what is different from what is in the markets works to increase the sale of products in the markets as a result of the various offers of designs that suit the taste of each consumer, Likewise, the increase in innovative design ideas will limit the travel of factory owners to purchase fabrics with modern designs for implementation in local markets, which may not be compatible with the taste of some consumers, and a number (12) designs have been created that are suitable for printing together furniture fabrics. Rh, and also some of the design were printed models numbered (11) samples applied to search models by means of digital printing.
