Abstract

The study aims to research the areas of creativity for one of the most distinguished Collections of the fashion designer Alexander McQueen, which is his latest show in his life “Plato’s Atlantis". The research followed the inductive method in an attempt to investigate the three hypotheses of the study: 1) that the "Atlantis Plato" collection and the show by designer Alexander McQueen is a creative artwork with all the details. 2) It is possible to reach a set of innovative entries through this collection specifically. 3) McQueen's approach of designing this collection brings new innovative entries for contemporary fashion designers. The researcher designed and implemented one dress, following McQueen method, as an experiment to test the innovative entries that the research reached. The results of the study are to verify the three study hypotheses. The current study enriches the research work in the topics of fashion design by trying to employ the inductive approach in art studies. Trying to reach norms and guidelines that open the horizons of innovation for designers, especially young designers, the study also enriches the innovative application in the field of contemporary fashion design.
