Abstract

The field of travel and leisure, as an economic and social activity, affects the quality of many resident’s life, in addition, tourism is a widespread and globally influential activity. Now, tourism is an important economic and social force in contemporary society. It is more a part of our lives than ever before. Owning a primary home is a rapidly growing activity which has become a very important phenomenon of our age. Experience of the second home is taking an interest in everyday life and tourist life, as well as it can overlap and affect each other. From the city to a ski chalet in the mountains, it's great to have a sanctuary to escape. If designer designs the way we want, the holiday home will become a haven which we look forward to visiting as well as a reliable source of income. There is a need to explore and understand the second home activity in a deeper, more insightful, besides, meaningful way which allows the second homeowner to express his experience through interior design. The second home is the creative workspace. For this reason, the second home environment was built to motivate innovation. The second home is where nature meets design, luxury, comfort, and relaxation. Therefore, the research explores a new perspective to present the experience of living in a second home, in addition, it studies the impact of strong, different, and bold interior design can attract the attraction of second homeowners for leisure and tourism as well as draw attention to the gap in current thinking about housing in a second home or holiday home which offers key factors of entertainment and relaxation for the owner, as well as the impact of this concept on the interior design. The first part of the research examines the concept of the home space, and the difference between the primary home and the second home, in addition, the second part of the research is a comprehensive review of holidays or second homes, their types, and the different themes in them, as well as the study of the second home functions. Finally, the interior design of holiday homes and the influence of rustic, coastal, and other styles associated with nature on the creativity of holiday home design are studied to attract residents and tourists. Finally, the research concluded the good planning for second and holiday homes which contributes to increasing interest in them for the individual, in addition motivating travel to them, furthermore encouraging tourism as an attraction element, as well as its impact on the leisure and relaxation of the individual through interior design in holiday homes.
