Abstract
Macrobiotics is a dietary system based on philosophies linked with religion. Macrobiotics means "big view of life". The optimal diet said to balance Yin and Yang food. Yin and Yang , the concept of opposite forces on which traditional Chinese medicine is based, this article gives a general outlook about Macrobiotics as a food system that depends basically on cereal consumption and avoidance of meat and recommends very little vegetable and fruit. In conclusion this article shows that dangerous health consequences may appear on the followers of this dietary system specially women and children. The article also shows that there are differences between the Islamic dietary system and Macrobiotics. The article recommends that this dietary system must not followed for long time and without a medical advice except a dietary regimen like getting rid of obesity
