Abstract

This paper addresses the beamforming design for the base station (BS) and mobile stat tion (MS) in multicarrier multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) mobile cellular comm munication systems. The transmit and receive beamformers at both the BS and MS are derived under co-channel interference (CCI) conditions in a Rayleigh fading environm ment. A closed-form expression for the maximum output signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) is achieved for interference-limited system. The quadratic form included in the maximum output SIR is analyzed, and the probability density function (PDF) of its large est eigenvalue is determined for Rayleigh-Rayleigh scenario (the BS and the co-chann nel interferers are subject to Rayleigh fading). Finally, the paper presents closed-form expressions for the PDF and the cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the output SIR and the system outage probability
