Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the trends of curriculum and instruction researches in post-graduate studies in Palestinian universities through the period 2000 - 2013 in terms of research subject, variables, type, population, sample, tools, and statistical analysis. To achieve the study aims, a total of 320 master theses researches were chosen as stratified sample from five Palestinian universities and analyzed using bibiolimetric analysis. The results showed that 97.19 % of the analyzed researches were quantitative and only 0.94% were qualitative. With regard to research types, the results showed that 56.6% of the analyzed researches were experimental, and 43.4% were descriptive.

Also the results showed that 61.15 % of the descriptive researches were survey studies, and 25.18 % content analysis, 6.47% correlation, 4.32 % case study and 2.88% were causal comparative research. Nearly 46.56% of the researches used two tools for data collection, 35.31% used one tool, whereas 18.13% used three or more tools. Regarding to the type of used tool; the test was more popular. Also the results showed that 92.44% used simple inferential Statistics and 7.56 % used advanced inferential statistics, and nearly 70.62% of the researches used nonrandom sample, whereas about 25.63% used random sample, and 3.75% used all of the population as a sample. Based on the results of the study the researcher suggested some recommendations as using different types of research methodology, tools, and statistical methods in master theses.
