Abstract

This study aimed at determining the degree of teacher’s evaluation of practical, moral, social and national values. It also attempted to identify the role of some variables related to members of the sample, namely: gender, academic qualification, the number of years of experience, specialization, and grade taught by the teacher in the degree of secondary school students in practicing the educational values in the public schools in the city of Nablus.

The study sample consisted of (175) male and female teachers. To achieve the objectives of the study, a 49-item questionnaire which was confirmed for its validity and consistency was constructed. The findings showed that estimates of the total score for the study sample of secondary teachers of both sexes in the city of Nablus, were medium, and reached a mean of (3,107). The four domains of the educational values obtained a medium degree of evaluation ranging between (2.943) - (3.309). The domain of national educational value scored the first rank with a mean of (3,309), whereas the domain of social educational values scored the second rank with a mean of (3,245). The domain of practical educational values scored the third rank with a mean of (3,002), and finally, the domain of ethical educational values scored the fourth rank with a mean of (2,943). In addition, the findings showed that there were no significant differences of teachers’ responses to educational values practiced by secondary school students attributed to gender, academic qualification, and the number of years of experience, specialization, and grade taught by the teacher.
