Abstract
The study aimed to investigate the knowledge level of the science and social studies teachers in active learning in Jordan. The study sample consisted of (64) male and female teachers who were selected randomly, and both researchers used a test consisted of (22) multiple choice questions whereas the results have shown differences of statistical significance in the teachers’ cognitive levels in active learning attributed to the variable of gender- in favor of females, and the variable of experience- in favor of experts of 1-5 years of experience, while the results have shown no differences of statistical significance for both variables of major and qualification. In light of these results, both researchers recommend giving attention to active learning in teachers’ preparation programs for pre-service; as well as conducting more studies in the field of active learning.
