Abstract
This study aims at looking into the term “harshness” and all its derivations in the Holy Quran. It is based on the objective explanation of the Quranic term so that it’s meaning and all the relevant explanations can be understood. Looking into this term in the Holy Quran, it can be seen that wherever it occurs, it is combined with the heart. As the heart is the main organ of the body but it is vilified. One of the most important values learned from studying the term cruelty in the Qur'an, the way to survive the gruelling heart is by remembering the almighty God, and to stick to His bides. Also to consider the consequence of heart harshness, by considering the Quranic models presented by the Holy Qur'an as Bani Israel and other cruel people and what consequences they faced. Keep reminding so that perhaps their hearts can be softened and are subject to the order of Allah the almighty.
