Abstract

This study aimed to explore the variation in selfie addiction predicted by body image satisfaction and emotional stability among Jordanian college students, and whether this explained variance differs according to students' gender. To achieve the aims of the study, scales of body image satisfaction, emotional stability and selfie addiction were developed. The sample of the study consisted of 791 male and female students of Jordanian universities. Results showed that selfie addiction level could be predicted by relaxation, self-control, sociability and stress tolerance of emotional stability subscales. It was also found that selfie addiction could be predicted by sociability and stress tolerance of emotional stability subscales among males, and only by stress tolerance emotional stability subscales among females.
