Abstract

This study aimed to identify the role of the school administration in the face of intellectual closure and promote the values of citizenship among secondary school students in Gaza Governorate. The study was based on the descriptive analytical method, using the questionnaire as a data collection tool by the sample of the study represented by the principals and teachers of secondary schools in Gaza governorate. The study found that the role of school administrations in the secondary schools in Gaza governorate to confront the intellectual closure and promote the values of citizenship among the students was high. The results showed that there were differences of statistical significance due to the gender variable in favor of females. The results showed that there were differences of statistical significance due to the educational area in favor of the East Gaza area. The results also showed that there are differences of statistical significance due to the job title in favor of school principals. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences due to partisan affiliation in favor of those belonging to the national labor factions. The study recommended that the school administration hold training courses, seminars and workshops for teachers, parents, media and students to provide appropriate educational, psychological and social methods to confront intellectual closure and promote the values of citizenship among students.
