Abstract

The study aimed to identify the degree of appreciation of a sample of faculty members of Palestinian universities in Gaza governorate, and the repercussions of political split on democratic culture. To achieve that, the researcher followed the descriptive analytical method by applying a questionnaire consisting of (38) material distributed in three areas, on a random sample of (313) faculty members from universities: (Al-Azhar, Palestine, Islamic) in Gaza Governorate. The results showed that the degree of respondents' appreciation of the repercussions of the Palestinian political dispute on democratic culture was moderate (57.5%). The field of (conceptual repercussions) came in the highest ranks with relative weight (60.4%), then the field (future repercussions) with relative weight (59.6%), and finally (field behavioral repercussions) with a relative weight (54.7%). There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the members of the sample estimation of the repercussions of the dispute on the democratic culture attributed to the college variable, for the benefit of the group of scientific colleges, and the absence of statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the members of the estimate of the repercussions of the dispute on the democratic culture on the field (conceptual repercussions) and the total degree of the questionnaire, attributed to the organizational support variable, in favor of independent members, The study recommended proposing training programs through schools and universities aimed at strengthening the mechanisms of upholding the law, preserving freedoms, protecting human rights, and rejecting all forms of violence.
