Abstract

The study aimed to find out the nature of the prank program shown by Ramez Jalal at MBC channel, which shows violence and aggression practiced against the program guests without any positive value. Also, it aims to determine the relationship between watching violent programs and the behavioral impact on viewers. The study employed the descriptive approach and used the content analysis method to define the problem, analyze it, and know the surrounding influences and causes behind the problem to solve it. The study tool was a content analysis sheet of Ramez Jalal six seasons prank program as a sample, where five episodes of each season were analyzed. The study identifies the problem of using violence and aggression that don’t show the real value behind Jalal’s prank programs. One of the most important results is that the violence accompanied all the episodes of the program from beginning to end8 It also found that the dominant values in the program invade the guest and the privacy of Arab viewers by including a set of values contrary to his own. By analyzing the contents of the program, the study found serious violations by using sarcasm as well as physical and verbal violence without regarding the guests' feelings, viewers, and human values8
