Abstract

This study aimed to reveal the academic motivation level in the light of COVID-19 pandemic among secondary school students in Irbid city due to some variables (gender and school branch). To achieve the study objectives, the descriptive survey method was used through preparing an electronic questionnaire consisting of (27) items divided into two domains (Intrinsic and Extrinsic Motivation) to reveal the academic motivation level. The study sample consisted of (456) students, of whom (187) and (269) female students who were selected by the available method. The study results showed that the academic motivation level among secondary school students was moderate. The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the academic motivation level among secondary school students in Irbid city due to the gender variable, there were statistically significant differences in the academic motivation level among secondary school students in Irbid city pandemic due to school branch, in favor of the scientific branch.
