Abstract

study aims at recognizing the perceptions of the high school principals and students' parents in Hebron directorate about the interaction between the school administration and the local community from the point of both the principals and the parents, through the answer of the following two questions: 1- What are the perceptions of the high school principals and the students' parents about the interaction between the school administration and the local community? 2- Do the perceptions of the secondary school administration differ from the perception of the students parents due to the study variables: responsibility (parent or principal), gender, directorate, educational level, and principal's experience? The study population consisted of secondary school principals in Hebron directorate, and the parents of all the secondary level students. To achieve the study aims, the researchers developed a questionnaire included 46 items distributed over three dimensions. The study showed that the perceptions of the high school principals and the students' parents about the interaction between the school administration and the local community was moderate ,with a mean of 3.31 from 5, and there is a statistically significant difference in the responses means of the perceptions between the secondary school administrations and the local community due to the type of responsibility and in favor of principals, while there were no statistically significant differences due to directorate, gender, principals experience, and the educational level . Finally the study came up with a number of recommendations
