The study aims at investigating difficulties faced by teachers of Arabic language in teaching reading for lower primary stage(1st_4th class) as perceived by teaches themselves in Hebron district. Whether there is statistical difference due to gender aims at knowing the differences in gender, experience and educational qualification. The sample consisted of 70 male and female teachers (38 male and 32 female). The subjects were chosen using the stratified random sample in the first semester of the scholastic year 2005/2006. The researcher constructed a thirty-item questionnaire that include five domains (academic, mental, psychological, physical and the socio-economical domain). Results showed that the difficulty degree that faces the teachers of Arabic language is very high with a mean of (2.38). Results also showed gender and educational qualification. On the other hand, the researcher found a statistical significant difference in the experience variable for the flavor teachers who have short experience.
In the light of the results, the researcher presented several recommendations.
