Abstract

This research in focuses on the methods of Al-Nadhdham and Al-Jahidh on the issue of (Divine Preclusion) As-Sarfah. However, An-Nadhdham, the philosopher, had viewed assarfah as a major part of his theory in the Qur’anic Inimitability but denied the coherence of the Qur’an and established the unseen Inimitability for the Qur’an. On the other hand, Al-Jahidh also believed in the Divine Preclusion but with different definition and established a disagreement with his teacher on the matter of coherence.

This research is aiming at exposing the secrets of opposing his teacher and revealing the features of agreement and disagreement between the two Mu’tazili figures on the eligibility of Divine Preclusion.
