This study aimed at investigating and analyzing the attitudes of mathematics students at Alquds Open University, An-Najah National University and Beirzeit University towards the mathematical proof in the light of some variables. The study, also, aimed to know whether the study variables have an effect upon the attitudes of students towards the mathematical proof.
The Attitude Scale consisted of (33) items, and after making sure that it was reliable and valid, it was distributed to a sample of (125) male and female students who were studying at mathematics departments at Palestinian universities in the fall semester 2010/2011. The results revealed that the students responded highly positively to the Attitude Scale; The total response rate was 78%. The study showed that there were statistical differences in the attitudes of students due to the university variable for the benefit of Alquds Open University, while there were no statistically differences in the attitudes of students due to the gender, the student level and accumulated average variables at (α= 0.05).
Based on the results of the study the researcher suggested some appropriate recommendations.
