Abstract

This study aimed to further a training course in developing the creative thinking in teaching the light unit in the physic subject for the high basic stage students in Jordan. To fulfill this aim,the study tried to answer the following questions: •Is there any effect of the training course in developing the creative thinking of female tenth graders in teaching the units of light in the physics subject regarding the fluency dimension at verbal Torrance test? •Is there any effect of the training course in developing the creative thinking of female tenth graders in teaching the units of the light in the physics subject on the flexibility dimension of verbal Torrance test? •Is there any effect of the training course in developing the creative thinking of female tenth graders in teaching the units of the light in the physics subject on the originality dimension of verbal Torrance test? •Is there any effect of the training course in developing the creative thinking of female tenth graders in teaching the units of the light in the physics subject regarding the total rank on verbal Torrance test? The validity and reliabitity have been verified by a group of specialists. It has been applied and reapplied on an exploratory sample from outside the study, its reliabitity rate was (0.85). And which is acceptable for search procedures. The quasi experimental curriculum has been used, whereas the study sample consisted of two classes of students from grade 10 in Alhijaz Secondary School (2010/2011).The study sample has been distributed randomly into groups: an experimental group, consisted of (28) students, and a control group consisted of (28) students.The results of analyzing ANCOVA test showed that there were three differences with statistical evidence on the dimensions, fluency, originality, flexibility, and on the total rank of verbal Torrance test at evidence level (α=0.05)This result reflect a positive effect in favor of the training course in developing the creative thinking in teaching the units of light in the physics subject to the female students, grade 10. In the light of these results, the study recommends to adopt this developed training course which is drawn by formative assessment to develop the skills of the creative thinking of the students through explaining the units of light in the physics subject.
