In this work, the CdO biotemplate nanorods were synthesized by chemical rout assisted microwave irradiation method via Hen egg-albumin extract. The CdO biotemplate nanorods were characterized by various characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), High resolution scanning electron microscope (HRSEM), Transmission electron microscope (TEM), Energy dispersive X-rays spectroscopy (EDX), Ultra violet-Vis diffused reflectance spectroscopy (UV-Vis-DRS) and Photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL). The XRD patterns of CdO biotemplate nanorods show in cubic phase structure with average particle size 21-23 nm. Functional groups present in the compound were analyzed by FTIR technique. The HRSEM photograph shows the rod shape morphology. TEM images of CdO biotemplate confirm the rod shape morphology. The CdO biotemplate nanorods optical properties were studied by UV-Vis-DRS and PL. The current-voltage (I-V) properties are studied by DC conductivity. The CdO biotemplate possessed potent cytotoxicity against HeLa cancer cell line.
