Abstract

The study aimed to identify the obstacles to applying TQM in the field training course for the specialty of physical education at the University of Jordan from the viewpoint of academic supervisors. It also aimed to identify the differences in the application of TQM in the field training course for the specialty of physical education according to the following variables (gender, Academic qualification, number of years of teaching experience, number of supervisory classes). The study sample consisted of 14 faculty members who supervised field training students for the first semester (2018-2019). The researcher used the descriptive approach to its appropriateness and study procedures, and the following statistical factors were used (Cronbach's alpha equation to calculate the internal consistency of the stability of the study tool, arithmetic mean scales, standard deviations, and the relative importance of describing the characteristics of the sample, and to answer the study questions, T.test, one way was used Anova and scheffe test). One of the most important result of the study was that the obstacles to applying total quality management in the field training course came high and in all areas where the field (obstacles to supervision of field training) got the first position from the point of view of supervisors and came in the last field in the field (the trainee student). The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the study variables (gender, educational qualification), while the variable of experience in supervision came with statistical significance and in favor of the group from 5 to less than 10 years. The researcher recommended preparing a field training program with total quality standards so that it is approved by the Supervision and Teaching Department in order to reach graduates to the level of internationally recognized standards and provide financial incentives for supervisors that increase their desire to undertake supervision despite his hardships.
