Abstract

The study aimed to identify the evaluation of the quality of teaching performance of the faculty members in the educational preparation program, College of Education, Taibah University, from the perception of graduates. The researcher used the descriptive approach in research. The study sample reached (356) distributed in six specialized tracks: Islamic Education, Arabic Language, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science and English Language. The results of the study showed the mediation of the mean values of the three domains: teaching methods, assessment methods, and professional characteristics, while it was relatively high in the domainof internship. The results of the study also showed statistically significant differences attributed to the gender variable, in favor of female students in the domain of internship. The study also showed the results of a multiple linear regression analysis, weighing the effect of each of the study's domain in predicting the quality of teaching performance. As the domain of teaching methods and internship received the highest rates, followed by the domain of assessment methods, while the weight of influence for professional characteristics received the lowest rate. In light of these results, the researcher concluded a number of recommendations, the most important of which is the necessity to implement a number of training programs and workshops regarding evaluation methods. The study also recommended the necessity of implementing other strategies in evaluating faculty members, such as peer assessment and self-assessment, to work alongside students' assessments of teaching and learning processes
