Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the degree of post graduate students possessing to the scientific research skills at the Faculty of Educational Sciences in Qassim University from their own perspective. Where the descriptive method has been adopted. The sample of the study consisted of (78) male and female students, a questionnaire consisted of (50) items divided into eight domains has been applied. The results of the study indicated that the post graduate students Possessing to the scientific research skills showed a moderate degree, and that the domain of references documentation ranked first, while the domain of statistical processing ranked last. The results of the study also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences between the average estimates of the study respondents to all their Possessing degree to the scientific research skills as a whole attributed to the variable of specialization, there were statistically significant differences attributed to the variable of benefiting from studying the scientific research course to acquire scientific research skills, in favor of the estimates of the study respondents who responded "Yes". Additionally, there were statistically significant differences attributed to the variable of publishing research papers in refereed scientific journals, in favor of the estimates of the study respondents who published research papers in refereed scientific journals. The study offered a set of recommendations, including developing the scientific research skills and focusing on the practical side of the scientific research skills in principles for the scientific research course.
