Abstract

This descriptive study aimed to survey the attitudes of students at the College of Education towards individuals with motor disabilities in Jordan, in order to benefit from it in knowing the extent of the need for programs to change negative attitudes towards individuals with disabilities. The population of the current study consists of all Jordanian public universities for the first semester of the academic year 2020/2021. The study sample consisted of (712) male and female students. It was randomly selected from seven public universities Jordan. The researcher built a scale to achieve the aims of the study. The researcher used one-way analysis of variance in the study design. The reliability coefficient of the scale was verified by the researcher using the test and - method, and the reliability coefficient was 0.85, and it was extracted by calculating the Pearson correlation coefficient. The study reached the following results: There were statistically significant differences at the level ( 0.05 ) due to the variable of specialization, as the results showed that students of special education have positive attitudes towards individuals with disabilities. There are statistically significant differences at level ( 0.05>a) due to the variable of studying courses on disabled individuals, as the results showed that students who study courses about disabled individuals have more positive attitudes .There are statistically significant differences at level ( 0.05>a) due to the gender variable, as the results showed that female students have more positive attitudes than males.
