Abstract

The study aims at identifing the degree of harmonization between problem solving method used by academic administrators at public universities in Jordan and the steps of design thinking from their point of view.

The study population consists of the deans of colleges and their deputies and department heads in Jordanian public universities for the academic year 2016/2017. To reach the study goal، a questionnaire consisting of (44) items divided into seven fields was constructed; reliability and validity were verified as well. Then، it was distributed to the sample of the study with a total of (316) deans of colleges and their deputies and department heads in Jordanian public universities in three regions (north، central and south).

The results of the study showed that the degree of harmonization of the method of solving problems used in public universities by administrators with the steps of design thinking from their point of view has significant differences when comparing the reality with the upper limit of the averages (5).

The study recommended conducting training courses for the study community in the mechanisms of using design thinking to solve problems.
