Abstract

The study aimed at finding out the effect of the use of the Self-Scaling and Mind Maps strategies in acquiring the concepts of national education and critical thinking skills. The sample consisted of (75) female students. The researcher used two tests, one for acquiring concepts and the other for critical thinking skills. The results showed that there were significant differences between the mean performance scores of students in the acquisition of concepts, attributed to the method of teaching using the self-scale strategy. In addition to the existence of significant differences between the averages of the performance of learners in the acquisition of critical thinking skills attributed to the method of teaching using the self-table strategy. Moreover, there are significant differences between the average performance scores of learners in the acquisition of concepts due to the method of teaching using the strategy of mind maps and the usual method. There are also significant differences between the average performance of learners in acquisition critical thinking skills attributed to the teaching method using mind mapping strategy, and the usual way.
