Abstract

This study aimed at finding out the leading factors of student violence in the Jordanian universities from the administrative leaders and students' point of view. The sample of the study consisted of (136) administrative leaders and (382) students who were drawn randomly from the population of the study. The descriptive survey method was used and a questionnaire was developed to collect data. It consisted of (56) items to measure the leading factors of students violence. They were distributed on five domains where the validity and reliability of the instrument were assured. The findings of the study were as the following: the level of the leading factors of student violence in Jordanian universities (governmental and private) was moderate from the administrative leaders and students’ point of view. There were statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) in the level of the leading factors of student violence in Jordanian universities attributed to the supervising authority and in favor of governmental universities in the total score and in the administrative, social, economic, academic and educational domains. However, there were no statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) in political and religious domains.
