This study aimed at investigating the effect of an instructional strategy based on constructivism approach in mathematics on achievement of sixth grade students in Saudi Arabia. The study sample consisted of (49) six grade students. The students were distributed randomly into two groups; experimental group with (24) students who studied through instructional strategy based on constructivism approach, and the control group with (25) students who studied through normal method. In order to provide answers to the study question, the researchers used achievement test. The validity and reliability of the instrument were verified by the suitable educational and statistical methods. After analyzing the results by the statistical methods, the findings showed that there were significant statistical differences in the achievement of students attributed to the method of teaching in favor of the experimental group. The study recommended to use the instructional strategy based on constructivism approach in mathematics teaching for its positive impact on achievement، and to encourage mathematics teachers in different stages to use this strateg. Also it was recommended to conduct other studies to evaluate the impact of an instructional strategy based on constructivism approach in mathematics teaching on the attitudes of students and their acquisition of mathematical concepts and keeping them.
