Abstract

This study aimed to identify the role of sports media in limiting riots at stadiums in Jordan according to (description/ game) variables. The study sample consisted of 230 persons of all study community. The researchers used the descriptive, survey approach and developed a questionnaire to measure the role of sports media in limiting riots at stadiums. The questionnaire consisted of 36 items distributed into three areas: spreading awareness among audience, players and administrators.

The results revealed that sports media had a medium role in limiting riots at stadiums. Moreover، it was revealed that there were significant statistical differences regarding the variable of description in favor of sports media people and administrators of collective sports unions. Furthermore، the results showed that there were no significant statistical differences regarding the estimation of the administrators of collective sports unions in favor of the nature of the game.
