Abstract

Thisstudyaimstoidentifythedifficultiesfacingthesecondary-schoolteachersofArabiclanguageintheDirectorateofEducationinNorthGazaGovernoratefromtheteachers›pointofview.Inaddition,thestudyseekstodeterminetheimpactofsex,qualificationandyearsofexperience.Toachievetheobjectivesofthestudy,theresearchersdevelopedaquestionnaire,asaresearchtool,consistingof(37)itemsbasedonLickert›sscale.Theitemsarecategorizedintofourfields:difficultiesrelatedtothecurriculumofschool,thestudent,teachersthemselvesandschoolmanagementincludingandsupervision.Thesampleofthestudyconsistsof(85)maleandfemaleteachersdistributedin(19)Schools.Themainresultsofthestudyisthatregardlessofthedifferencesinthesocialtype,qualification,andyearsofexperience,allArabiclanguageteachersfacemanydifficultiesandallofthemacknowledgedthepresenceofthosedifficulties.Therewerenosignificantstatisticaldifferencesconcerningtheirestimationoftheimportanceofthosedifficulties.Itisconcludedthatthemostimportantdifficultyisrelatedtotheteachersthemselves.Thestudycameupwithdifferentrecommendations:(1)theofficialsshouldtakethosedifficultiesinconsiderationandfindeffectivesolutionsforthosedifficulties.(2)Thereisabadneedtoprovidebetterconditionsforteachersbyraisingtheircompetencies,orientationandprovidingmaterialandmoralincentivesforthem.(3)LinkingthecontentoftheArabiccurriculumwiththestudents›realityandneedstotouchthevalueofwhattheyarelearningintheirpracticalcareer.(4)DevelopingandimprovingthecontentoftheArabiccurriculum.(5)Improvingandincreasingtheeffectivenessoftheeducationalsupervision
