Abstract

The aim of the current research is to show the ability level of Arabic language teachers to develop creative listening skills for second-grade middle school pupils. To achieve this goal, the researcher prepared the following research materials and tools: A list of creative listening skills appropriate for second-grade middle school pupils, a list of skills development methods for creative listening for second-grade middle school pupils, flashcards for developing creative listening skills. All the tools were validated for consistency and credibility. The sample of the study consisted of Arabic language teachers in Abha. The study tools were applied to the sample. The researcher performed the statistical analysis, interpretation of the results, and the presentation of recommendations. The results showed the inability of Arabic language teachers to develop creative listening skills for second-graders in middle schools. The results also showed that there were no differences due to years of service or acquired training courses in the ability of Arabic language teachers to develop methods for creative listening skills for middle school students.
