Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate using the Internet by publicsecondary school teachers in Jaresh Governorate and the students’ attitudestoward it. The sample of the study consisted of (120) public secondaryteachers as well as (300) secondary students from Jerash Governorate andthe random stratified sample procedure was used. To achieve the goal of thestudy, the descriptive analysis model was used. The validity and reliabilityof the questionnaire were checked. The results of the study showed that theusing of the Internet by public school teachers was moderate. The resultsalso indicated that there were statistically significant differences in using theInternet by public school teachers according to gender and specializationvariables in favor of female and English teachers, respectively. On the otherhand, the results indicated that the attitudes of students toward internet weremoderate. Moreover, the results showed there were statistically significantdifferences in the attitude of students toward their teachers’ using the Internetin term of the stream of study variable, in favor of scientific stream. The studyrecommended the necessity to integrate the Internet in the teaching andlearning process.
