Abstract
The research aims to investigate the status offree reading among the students of the Faculty ofEducation (classroom teacher) at the University ofDamascus.To achieve aims of research a questionnairehas designed consisting of 3l items and included(29) items as indicators to know the reality offree reading among the students of the Faculty ofEducation (classroom teacher) at the University ofDamascus. This questionnaire was distributed toa sample of them accounting for about 3 % of theoriginal community, which numbered 2474 studentsin the academic year/ 2009- 2010The research found that there were nostatistically significant differences in the averageanswers of the study sample regarding the variablesof sex , and the school year.
