Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of employing augmented reality technology in the teaching of tenth graders to develop motivation towards learning and scholastic achievement in the subject of Technology in Gaza. In order to achieve the aim of the study, the researcher adopted the quasi - experimental approach. As a result, study tools were designed and developed, including “achievement” test and “motivation to learn” scale. The researcher followed random sampling and two classes of tenth graders were selected as a sample during the first semester of the academic year 2017/ 2018. The most important result of the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences at the level of (a≤0. 05) among the mean scores of the study sample (students in control and experimental groups) in the post test of scholastic achievement test and in the post test of motivation to learn level. The results also revealed that there was a correlative relationship between the scholastic achievement and the motivation towards learning. The most important recommendations of the study included, applying augmented reality technology and benefiting from it as a successful approach that fulfills the educational objectives.
