The teaching performance evaluation of middle school teachers in the light of critical thinking skills and the proposed solutions to develop them. The purpose of this study, therefore, was to evaluate the teaching performance of middle school science teachers in the light of their use of critical thinking skills in Jazan province, in addition to finding out the proposed solutions for the development of critical thinking skills from the viewpoint of science supervisors. The study sample consisted of (36) teachers represent the original population which contained( 268) middle school science teachers in Jizan province education administration, they have been chosen in a random manner. The observation card was applied as a tool for measuring the teaching performance of teachers which consisted of (28) items distributed on five spheres which are (‘‘derivation skill, reasoning skill, knowing assumptions and evaluation of arguments) As for supervisors, the study sample, also, consisted of (12) science supervisors in Jazan province, they have been chosen a randomly simple way from the study population with a total number of ( 14) supervisors. The questionnaire was used as a tool for collecting data related to the developmental proposals from their viewpoint and after data was collected, it was analyzed by a program (SPSS) : arithmetic means, standard deviation, percentages and Cooper equation were used . After conducting the necessary statistical analyses, the study concluded the following findings: - The results of the study showed that the level of teaching performance of science teachers in the intermediate stage, in the light of critical thinking skills on the axes: (conclusion, knowledge of assumptions, and evaluation of arguments) - came with a poor degree of performance. - The results related to the development proposals to activate the critical thinking skills - from the point of view of supervisors - that they came to a very large degree of approval; where the arithmetic averages of development proposals ranged between (4.41 - 4.85).
