Abstract

The study aimed to identify the degree of availability of global leadership skills to academic leaders at Taif University, from the viewpoint of faculty members, and to explore the significant differences between the responses of the sample about the degree of availability. Using the descriptive analytical approach and the questionnaire as a tool, it included (60) words distributed on four dimensions (skills), and after confirming their sincerity and consistency, they were applied to a simple random sample of (243) faculty members at Taif University, making up (16%) of the total community. The study concluded the following results: The degree of availability of global leadership skills among academic leaders in Taif University is average, with an average of (3,16), and the order of availability of skills came respectively: (Global personality, estimating cultural diversity, building partnerships and alliances, technology and institutional capabilities ). All of them are of moderate degree. There are statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the responses of the sample about the degree of availability of global leadership skills attributed to sex for the benefit of males, and for specialization in favor of human colleges, and for years of experience in favor of less than 5 years. Similarly, there are differences at the level (0,01) about the skills of building partnerships and alliances attributed to sex for the benefit of males, and differences at the level (0,05) about the skills: (global personality, appreciation of cultural diversity, building partnerships and alliances) attributed to specialization in favor of human specialties, and about Skills (global personality, technology and institutional capabilities) attributed to years of experience in favor of less than 5 years. While there are no statistically significant differences at any of the levels of significance between the responses of the sample about the degree of availability of global leadership skills or about its dimensions may be attributed to the scientific degree. The study recommends providing opportunities for academic leaders at the university to obtain fellowships with academic leaders in international universities, and to develop procedures and incentives to enhance cooperation and institutional and programmatic competition globally.
