Abstract

This study aimed to build a proposed perception of the necessary competencies for a faculty member in faculties of education in the light of Egypt's vision (2030). The study used the descriptive approach, and it used the (questionnaire) as the measurement tool. The sample of the study consisted of (206) members of the teaching staff in the faculties of education in (24) universities from the universities of Egypt, and the results of the study concluded that these competencies are important, from the viewpoint of the teaching staff, as it came in the direction of the alternative to a large degree for all competencies. So, this confirms the agreement of the teaching staff about its importance and the necessity of its availability for the teaching staff in the future to achieve the vision of Egypt (2030).

The results of the study also concluded that the competencies related to scientific research are ranked first, as they obtained a high evaluation level from the point of view of the teaching staff, followed by the competencies related to the educational process and then related to community service and finally related to teacher training during the service. The study presented a proposed scenario for the necessary competencies of a teaching staff in the faculties of education in the light of Egypt's vision (2030), through several axes that included: the objectives of the proposed vision, its premises, axes, implementation mechanisms, guarantees of success, obstacles facing it, and finally proposed solutions to confront obstacles.
