This study aimed to identify the causes of reading and writing weakness among primary school students from the point of view of the Arabic language teacher، and to provide solutions to treat this weakness. To achieve this، the researcher used the descriptive approach، and the questionnaire was a tool for collecting data that was applied on (102) teachers of the Arabic language teacher at the elementary stage، who were randomly chosen from the teachers of Mahayil Aseer Education Department.
The results of the study resulted in a set of results، including: that the reasons of reading and writing weakness related to the student came first with an arithmetic mean of (4.40)، followed by the reasons related to school administration with a mean of (4.36)، then the reasons related to the family and society and its arithmetic mean was (4.23)، followed by the reasons related to the educational system and its arithmetic mean was (4.13)، then the reasons related to the scheduled book with an arithmetic mean of (3.88)، followed by the reasons related to the teacher and its arithmetic average was (3.84)، and finally: The reasons related to the educational supervisor came with a mean of (3.83). The study also found a number of solutions to treat the causes of students' reading and writing weakness. In light of these results، the researcher presented some recommendations and suggestions.
