Abstract

This research aimed to develop creative reading comprehension skills of the first year preparatory students, and identify the impact of using the guided imagination strategy in developing these skills, The quasi-experimental approach was followed, using a two-group experimental design, the research sample was made up of (60)students prep-pupils in the “Awlad Raik” Joint Prep School , Assuit Educational administration, Assuit Governorate.

The researcher used a list of creative reading comprehension skills of the first year preparatory students, Test of creative reading comprehension skills of the first year preparatory students, scale of performance rating, student book, and a teacher's guide. The results indicated the effectiveness the guided imagination strategy in developing creative reading comprehension skills of the first year preparatory students, and the impact of the use of effective the guided imagination strategy to develop creative reading comprehension skills, level with effect size reaching 0.99
